Alec Soth meets an unconvinced man in Kentucky.

Today I’m in the confirmed red state of Kentucky. On an evening walk in downtown Lexington, I passed by the House of God Hebrew Pentecostal Church where I encountered J. B. Thomas Jr., leaving a Thursday evening service.

I asked Mr. Thomas about the upcoming election. “If we could put Obama and McCain together, I think we’d have a good team,” he said. After pressing Mr. Thomas, he admitted that he was still an undecided voter. “I’m not convinced by either of them yet,” he said, “I’m still hoping to hear from the Lord.”
