Obamania
Bruno Barbey
On January 20th, 2009, Bruno Barbey captures the masses of people gathered on the Mall in Washington D.C. to witness the inauguration of President Obama.
This presentation catches the atmosphere of the inauguration very well... However I have a few issues...
I found this presentation one dimensional. As this project is entitled "Obamania" and proposes to document the "masses of people gathered on the Mall in Washington D.C. to witness the inauguration of President Obama", I assumed a more diverse selection of individuals would have been presented. Are blacks/ minorities the only ones with Obamania?
The image of the fellow with his eyes bulging out at 1:54 is out of place and could be considered offensive because it alludes to certain gags performed during Minstrel Shows... Perhaps, as the audio suggests, "all are equal, all are free, all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." Was this used a comic relief for such an otherwise serious moment in American History?

A great day "in" America...not "for" America...Bill O'Rilley-FNC
The NY Times, as are all other news media, are in the "trust business"
After the blatent one sided campagine coverage of Barack Obama this last election cycle, who can you trust to keep this president honest ? Certainly not those who called him a "rock star" repetedly.......Bernie Goldberg
