A Harvest Out Of Reach
Susan Meiselas
Workers handpick tomatoes by the ton. They must harvest 2.5 tons a day, just to earn minimum wage. It's a backbreaking job that quickly takes a toll on a worker's body. Photojournalist Susan Meiselas and audio journalist Cecilia Vaisman visited Immokalee, Fla., a produce center for some of the nation's biggest food distributors.
