Ora, sappiamo che Giasone inconsciamente ama Medea, ma la sua ricerca è esclusivamente intenta al successo. Quello che qui vediamo, dunque, non è la Colchide di Medea, ma la Corinto di Creonte e, in essa, la spaventosa tragedia scaturita dall'irriducibilità reciproca fra due civiltà culturalmente contrapposte.
